Molluscum Contagiosum

Molluscum contagious is a skin disease caused by molluscum virus and spreads from person to person. This virus produces bumps and lesions on the upper layer of the skin. Usually, it spreads by using infected clothing, towel, and infected mats. In one go, there can be about 10 to 20 bumps, but people with weak immune system can have more than 100 or more bumps.
If you have a strong immunity system, there won’t be any trouble as the lesions go away within just a few days. You will need a treatment only if:

  • The lesions are large and located on the neck and face
  • A skin disease already exists like atopic dermatitis
  • Concerned about spreading the virus

Depending on the cause and extent of the problem, one of the most suitable treatment is recommended. It can be a laser therapy, topical therapy, or cryotherapy. In some of the cases, there can be scarring also that goes with regular treatment.
We make sure you are offered the most suitable and comfortable treatment. The whole idea is to relieve the patient from the pain and embarrassment of Molluscum contagiosum.
