Merkel Cell Carcinoma

Merkel Cell Carcinoma is a rare skin disease in which cancer cells form in the skin. Weak immune system and sun exposure are considered as the prime reason for this skin problem.

There are chances that this cancer spread to your bones, brain, lungs or liver. Merkel cell carcinoma first travels to the lymph nodes and from there it spreads to the other parts of the body, interfering the normal functioning of this organ.

We will first diagnose the problem using a series of tests like a physical exam and skin biopsy. Along with the diagnosis, we also determine the extent of the disease, whether it has reached the other parts of the body or not.

Depending on the extent of the problem, one of the below-given solutions will be assigned:

  • Surgery
  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation Therapy

Sometimes more than one type of treatment is used to cure the existing condition and the deciding element is the extent of the problem. All the treatment is carried out in the most comfortable and efficient manner. The patient is made to feel relaxed and easy in a cooperative environment. You are never going to feel the awkwardness of being at a clinic.
